The Outdoors Fund

In 2019, the 8th grade class and parents established The Aubrey Nelson Outdoors Fund to help provide ongoing financial support to The Outdoors Program. As a founding faculty member of The Beech Hill School, Ms. Nelson created and oversaw The Outdoors Program to become one of the most cherished opportunities of a BHS education. Ms. Nelson’s love, knowledge, and enthusiasm for the outdoors inspired many students in the School’s early days. Students, past and present, eagerly discuss their shelter building project or measuring the thickness of the ice on the beaver pond, all thanks to Ms. Nelson’s guidance. Because of her legacy and the appreciation of the Class of 2019, The Outdoors Program will receive financial support for years to come.

The annual income from The Outdoors Fund offsets the annual expenses of The Outdoors Program.

Gifts to the principal of The Outdoors Fund help further strengthen The Fund, thereby providing more income to The Outdoors Program. Please indicate if you wish your gift to go toward The Outdoors Fund.

If you have interest in making a significant gift to The Outdoors Fund, or to any other program at BHS, please contact the Head of School, Rick Johnson.
